THREE IRREVOCABLE ARGUMENTS

Three irrefutable arguments against the obligatory

 Sabbath holiday

"By keeping the Sabbath, believers express that they are ready for God's will,
and not to live by their own choice.”

https://adventista.hu/kik-az-adventistak/hitelveink/a-szombat/

Since the teachings of Adventists regarding the Ten Commandments are completely contrary to God's revelations regarding the law and the Sabbath, they are considered spiritual viruses. must be considered, which also infect computers, and therefore they must be quarantined!

For them, keeping the Sabbath is a sign of obedience, which in turn is an expression of disobedience since the death of Christ, with which they deny the sin-absolving value of the ransom sacrifice. However, "the sting of death is sin; and the power of sin is the law" (1 Corinthians 15:56). Therefore, a redeemed Christian cannot be under the law and in Christ at the same time. Whoever comes out of sin must also come out of the law!

The purpose of this paper is to convince Adventists of the wrongness of their teachings and to encourage them to follow Christ correctly. The three irrefutable arguments immediately show what it is all about:

The first argument

"For in six days the Lord created the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and on the seventh day he rested. That is why the Lord blessed and sanctified the day of rest." (Exodus 20:11)

The Adventists bring this up, here is God's example, the 6+1 rhythm for work and rest, which speaks to all of humanity, as the form of worship and lifestyle founded in Eden.

“God rested, and he expected man to rest; he showed man an example to follow (Exodus 20:11)... God blessed and sanctified the seventh day, the Sabbath, because on this day he rested from all his work. He blessed and sanctified it not for himself, but for humanity.” - https://adventista.hu/kik-az-adventistak/hitelveink/a-szombat/

But this is not so. Notice this verb:

"While he was yet speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice was heard from the cloud: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; listen to him." (Matthew 17:5)

God delights in his Son, he obviously listens to him, but not for the purpose for which man should also listen. Because man must listen to Christ because of perfect leadership, but God does not listen to his Son for this reason, but because he is the reflection of his glory, the executor of all his will, divine perfection is reflected in him in the form of obedience. / Cf. Hebrews 1:2; 5:8; Colossians 2:9; John 6:38)

Therefore, God's action does not give man a one-to-one pattern, so that we perceive it as a scheme and do everything according to it. In the case of the Sabbath, the same is true, it does not justify the necessity of observing the Sabbath, because He also rested on the Sabbath, so one should do the same.

Is there a difference between why one celebrates and a difference between how? There is a separate reason for why and how:

Why:
"And remember that you were a servant in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there with a strong hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day." (Deuteronomy 5:15)

How:
“Six days you shall work and do all your work... For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them, and on the seventh day he rested. That is why the LORD blessed and sanctified the day of rest."
(Exodus 20:9, 11)

In other words, the reason for the command to keep the Sabbath is completely different from God's side regarding the man brought out of slavery in Egypt, and not to set an example for humanity with the 6+1 creation /rhythm of work and rest/. This Adventist argument therefore fails.

The second argument

The other Adventist claim is that God's rest/Sabbath is 24 hours long, so being in God's rest is connected to the celebration of the 24-hour Sabbath /as a stepping stone to evangelical rest/, and especially this keeping of the Sabbath holiday identifies God's people, that is, the Adventists. But notice this verb:

"Therefore, since the promise of entering into his rest is yet to be fulfilled, let us be careful that none of you be seen as in eclipse." (Heb 4:1)

If the call to the 24-hour Sabbath holiday was valid for all mankind from the Garden of Eden to the present day, and was observed by the faithful even before Moses, then it is valid for the whole of Judaism until the time of Jesus, and even beyond that to the present day, for true Christians / even for all mankind. according to the moral law of the eternal ten commandments, therefore the Adventists are especially obedient in this respect/, then what is the word "promise" looking for in the divine revelation in relation to the divine peace?

What kind of entrance into rest is promised, if God's rest is represented by a 24-hour Sabbath celebration, and every obedient person is already in God's rest by celebrating the Sabbath, since exactly keeping the 24-hour Sabbath means resting in God's rest since the Garden of Eden.

"... the celebration of the seventh-day Sabbath is a symbol of entering into the rest of the Gospel... He obtained atonement for us by his act on Golgotha, and we can enter into His rest." - https://adventista.hu/kik-az-adventistak/hitelveink/a-szombat/

This is an Adventist false teaching, because according to them, a believer enters into rest by celebrating the 24-hour Sabbath, even though there is no statement that this rest of Christ could be entered with the 24-hour Sabbath - they add this. Anyway, the two have nothing to do with each other!

This is also shown by the statement that Christ obtained atonement by his act on Golgotha, which can result in entry. The 24-hour Sabbath celebration cannot cause this, nor can it justify it, since the two are not related to each other.

For a Christian, the promise of entering God's rest /or being in it/ is not related to the 24-hour Sabbath /it does not refer to it/, but to the continuous state of rest, which is the grace period of redemption through the death of Christ. On the one hand, since the death of Christ in the present time -
"For we who believe enter into rest" (Hebrews 4:3) - but beyond that, regarding the thousand-year millennium period, "Accordingly, the Sabbath rest remains for the people of God" (Hebrews 4:9). . [The Bible verses about God's rest do not even mention the 24-hour Sabbath!]

Therefore, whoever believes in Christ /and practices a lifestyle coupled with obedience/ receives the grace of redemption, is already in God's rest in a spiritual sense, and will be in it in a physical sense as well, when God's will is realized on Earth and Christ's thousand-year millennial reign begins, so the New World after this present world age/form of human self-governance comes under judgment and comes to an end. /This is what the end of the world means, and not the destruction of the universe, which materialists mistakenly think./

So if the Bible talks about the promise of an entrance into rest, it cannot be a 24-hour Sabbath celebration according to the Adventist interpretation, since the promise of an entrance refers to a continuously existing rest, not a 24-hour Sabbath celebration.

[Because if a 24-hour day represents being taken off in rest, then what about the other six days, on those days it is not included in rest, it does not apply to them? If it is also included on them, then the symbolic meaning of a single day becomes completely unnecessary, since every day has the same meaning!

In addition, Jesus' sacrifice on Calvary is the basis for getting there, not the celebration of a 24-hour Sabbath. And that applies to every day of the week, not just the seventh day. Therefore, 24-hour Sabbath observance has nothing to do with entering God's rest.

Thus, the question is completely justified, what is he looking for here at all, why is the mention of the 24-hour Sabbath here - especially in view of the fact that it is related to the promise of entering into rest, not to the observance of any kind of holiday.] So this Adventist argument also failed.

The third argument

The third statement, according to which the 24-hour Sabbath holiday, as the moral law of the eternal ten commandments for all mankind, was not part of the law of Moses, because the law of Moses was a ceremonial law that lasted until the death of Jesus, after which it became obsolete, has been deleted. This difference is also proven by the fact that the stone tablet of the Ten Commandments was inside the ark, and the writings containing the laws of Moses were attached to the side of the ark.

"Take this book of the law and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and it will be there as a witness against you". (Deuteronomy 31:26)

However, this artificial dismantling of Moses' legal system is a completely wrong interpretation, because the practice shows a completely different view. Notice this verb:

"For from old generations Moses has had his heralds in every city, since he is read in the synagogues every Sabbath." (Acts 15:21)

Here, every Sabbath means the weekly Sabbaths, which the Ten Commandments also refer to:

"Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy" (Exodus 20:8). However, if on these Sabbaths /which, according to the Adventist interpretation, did not belong to the ceremonial law of Moses/ Moses was read by the preachers of Moses, then something is absolutely wrong regarding the separation of the Sabbaths of Moses and the Ten Commandments. [Or Lukács, who wrote the book of Acts, did not tell the truth, and this is unimaginable!]

The Jews only knew why they read the writings of Moses on Saturdays, since through Moses they received the laws according to which they wanted to govern their lives - in the time after the death of Christ, just as for 1500 years before it:

"Those who are Israelites, to whom belong the sonship and the glory and the covenants, and the giving of the law and the divine honor and the promises; ... The Jews answered him: We have a law, ... Whoever blasphemes the name of the LORD, let him die, let the whole congregation stone him . Whether he is a foreigner or a native, if he blasphemes the name of the LORD, let him dwell with death." (Romans 9:4; John 19:7; Leviticus 24:16) So their law, which they referred to, was the law of Moses, which dictated to them to read Moses on the Sabbath, and even proclaim:

"Woe to you hypocritical scribes and Pharisees! for you go around sea and land to make a Gentile a Jew;" (Matthew 23:15). Therefore, the Jews themselves clearly prove that in their reading, the Sabbath of the Ten Commandments and the Law of Moses are in the same category, there is no difference between them, they do what the law dictates to them (albeit deformed), especially on Saturdays, that is, they gather in the synagogues.

It was not by chance that the Pauls sought contact with the Jews in their meeting places on Saturdays in order to testify to them about Christ. (Cf. Acts 17:1-2) Therefore, the Adventist teaching on the separation of the Law of Moses and the Ten Commandments reflects a completely foreign concept, the purpose of which is to assemble a completely different system from the components of divine revelation.

"The Sabbath commandment is the seal of God's law.[4]

As you can see, the Adventists do not link the celebration of the Sabbath to the law of Moses /but to the law originating from God/, since according to them, the law of Moses only means ceremonial laws /and ceremonial Sabbaths/.

[This is nonsense, since in the Bible there is no such thing as ceremonial law, nor such as moral law, nor that there is a separate law of God and a separate law of Moses. But the law of Moses was very much God's law, since he gave all the laws to Israel through Moses, which contained instructions for all kinds of areas - but within the law of Moses. (Cf. 1 Chronicles 22:12-13)]

In the reading of the Adventists, the ceremonial Sabbaths were not directly connected to the 24 Sabbaths of the seventh day, i.e. to the weekly period. These were Sabbaths
"in addition to the Lord's Sabbaths", which, according to them, have nothing to do with the Sabbath of the Ten Commandments. (Leviticus 23:38)

The Devil specifically aims for this, to extract from the Bible those words that he puts together in other ways in order to mislead people and put them in an impossible situation before God. He started this method in the Garden of Eden and continues to this day:

"And the serpent was more cunning than all the beasts of the field that the Lord God had created, and he said to the woman: Did God really say that you shall not eat from any tree of the garden?" (Genesis 3:1)

In Adventism we find the same thing, certain statements appear in a completely different context and lead to a different result. Namely, by asserting the origin and validity of the 24-hour Sabbath celebration /even using it as an identification mark/, by separating the Ten Commandments from the Law of Moses, they lead people completely astray, back to the area of the Mosaic Law, namely under its curse.

Because the law of Moses also brought under a curse everyone who was under it, due to the fallen human nature, from which only Jesus could free him, who fulfilled all the requirements of the law, fulfilled it and annulled it with his death:

"Having abolished the enmity in His body, the law of the commandments in terms; that He may create those two into one new man in Himself, obtaining peace; ... For the end of the law is the righteousness of Christ for all believers... Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, it became a curse for us;" (Eph 2:15; Rom 10:4; Gal 3:13).

By the law of Moses, God meant all the commandments, all 613 together!

"Remember the law of Moses, my servant, which I commanded through him in Horeh, as decrees and judgments for all Israel... For when Moses spoke all the commandments according to the law to all the people... For if a man keeps the whole law, but transgresses against one , is guilty of spoiling the whole."
(Malachi 4:4; Hebrews 9:19; James 2:10)

So there is no separation of the law of Moses, but only for those who go against the revealed will of God. And that means death for anyone who does this and perseveres in it. See:

"The position of Seventh-day Adventists regarding their relationship to the Ten Commandments and the distinction between moral and ceremonial laws is fully supported by the leading creeds, articles of faith, and catechisms of historic Protestantism." /SDA Questions On Doctrine, 131-134. She./.

"The removal of the Ten Commandments from the requirements of the law, and their confusion with the sacrificial law called the ceremonial law, arises from a profound ignorance of the teaching of Christ and the apostles, so that even the Protestant reformers did not fall into error." /Christian Churches of God - Discrimination in the law/ - http://www.ccg.org/s/p096.html

Adventism /and the congregation of Sabbath celebrants like it/ has thus been exposed and failed in terms of showing the true Christian way to humanity. Moreover, in connection with E.G. White's visions, he gave way to the ideas of the Devil, which he smuggled into the Christian self-consciousness, at least in its deformed part, under the guise of the false spirit of prophecy. Therefore, it is necessary to keep ourselves away from this if we are applying for the recognition of God and the attainment of salvation.

"Take heed that we do not lose what we have worked for, but gain a full reward." (2 John 1:8)

Summary:

1. God did not set an example for humanity by creating the 6+1 day and sanctifying the Sabbath day. Saturday is not a commemorative holiday of Creation, such a holiday does not even exist in the Bible!

2. The promise of entering the Sabbath rest has nothing to do with the celebration of the 24-hour Sabbath, which was part of the law given by Moses /and abolished by the death of Christ, the texts here do not even mention the 24-hour Sabbath.

The preachers of Leviticus came together every Saturday, which clearly proves the Mosaic origin of the 24-hour Sabbath, that the two belong together, and that the Sabbath of the Ten Commandments cannot be separated from it and proclaimed as an eternal moral law for the peoples of the world, the observance of which would be the sign, which would identify someone as belonging to God's people.

Therefore, the announcement of the 24-hour Sabbath celebration as an identification sign means the re-enforcement of the 613 laws of Moses, which is equal to the loss of Christ's freedom, and this is precisely the purpose of the Devil to make him fall from grace. That is why it is important to take to heart the apostolic warning:

"Therefore, stand still in the freedom to which Christ has set us free, and do not bind yourselves again with the yoke of servitude." (Galatians 5:1)
